Pay Per Post a place where bloggers get paid to blog will announce on Monday, that they will require all their content providers to be more transparent in their sponsored postings. As such, this one such sponsored post that we were asked to write. One of the biggest critics of Pay Per Post, has actually given some positive nods to the proposed announcement. How gracious that he allows the rest of us to make a living on the web. While the FTC is mentioned, it is not clear that personal blogs are affected by the pending legislation.
What most people fail to realize, is that while the FTC may put into law requirements about full disclosure, they leave a lot up for interpretation on how that disclosure is accomplished. Most posties for Pay Per Post have a prominent disclosure policy on their blog already. Plus, the shear man power it would take to monitor and police such a policy with more than 50 million blogs on the internet is not attainable. So my hats off to The Murphman, and he company for taking a stand on disclosure.
